The Cake Studio

Mercedes Tamayo-Blackwell is a very seasoned hospitality professional and cake artist of over 20 years.  Mercedes started out in the industry as a hotel Catering Sales Manager and later Director, overseeing many large conventions, events and weddings during her career.  She learned the pastry arts and cake design along the way and absolutely fell in love with the art.  Her passion for creating wedding cakes in Orlando is what prompted her to start her small business. She calls it The Cake Studio because her cakes are definitely works of art.  No two cakes are ever the same.  Each creation is unique to the vision of her clients.  The Cake Studio services the entire state of Florida.

Good thing is that she’s very active.  In additional to being a hospitality professional and running her business, she is an avid ballroom dancer and fitness fanatic. Mercedes also has a family including hubby and 3 teenage boys!  Whew!!
